lil’ walkin’ dudes
so, as i’m sure some of you’ve noticed, i (crappyblue) posted a redesign for Crappy Blue Luigi on my main blog. there have been some concerns lately about making Crappy into an actual original property—especially if Beat ‘Em Up!! is ever made into a real game that you can pay money to download.

as such, after working out the design details and making a decent chunk of new art, i present…
the new Crappy; aka. Blue “Crappy” Crapsman.
expect a character page revamp, soon—one that replaces the old with the new and brings in some “secret” stuff.
I don’t want to post these as a text post, but I have no choice. Grumps.

oh man, i love the look of this!—especially those foreground grass and rock tiles. the paralax scrolling is really well-done! if i had any criticisms, though, it’d be that the walking character is animated a bit stiffly. the white shoulder pad(?) makes his shoulder look a bit hiked up, making the elbow’s location more ambiguous and causing the arm’s movement to look awkward. outside of some small jaggy details on things like the tombstones and castle front that could be smoothed out with a lil’ anti-aliasing, i think this is rather neat.

introducing the first secret character: axel!
well… she’s not the first in the lineup, but she’s the first to be revealed.
well… revealed here, anyway.
ANYWAY, here she is! all there is to show right now is a crazy bouncy idle and a full set of portraits, but once i get talking with actual axel about her moves and such, more material will be posted about her, including stats and bio.
the unlockable characters lineup won’t be added to the characters page until all six have been announced, so don’t expect to see axel’s page for a while.
